Algonquin Canoe Trip, June 2003
Campsite, Opeongo Lake [0]
We chose a campsite to the left of the portage to Proulx Lake, which we would have to tackle the next morning. It was to be the first of twelve portages on the route, and at 1.4km, would provide a good indication of how we would handle the big 5.3km Dickson-Bonfield portage to come on Day 5. Of course, with four days of food on our backs, and a relentless assault of mosquitos, it would prove to be tougher than expected.
