Algonquin Canoe Trip, June 2003
Close encounter [0]
The moose kept going down the shore and when it was far enough away from us, climbed up and into the forest, and was gone.
After this little episode, we looked around a little more closely at the beach and campsite we were staying on and noticed a large amount of moose tracks throughout the area. It was pretty clear that our campsite was directly in the line of travel for a number of moose feeding at the mouth of the river.
We laughed about what had just happened, finished our snacks and packed up the food, before heading across the lake to check out the ranger cabin and lookout.
